Store fully cooled muffins in a sealed container at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate them for up to 5 days. Place a paper towel below and above the muffins to manage moisture. For freezing, wrap each muffin tightly and place them in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Freeze them only after the centers have cooled for at least 30 minutes. Reheat a refrigerated muffin at 300°F for 6 to 8 minutes. A frozen muffin needs 10 to 12 minutes after thawing, or 14 minutes from frozen. The sugar top should feel crisp and the center should reach about 120°F. Discard muffins with fermented pear odor, visible mold or a sticky surface that remains wet after reheating.
