Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen mango chunks Frosty and solid mango pieces kept frozen until the moment of blending.
  • 0.5 cup plain Greek yogurt Full-fat variety for a rich texture and tangy flavor profile.
  • 0.5 cup whole milk Provides the necessary liquid base to help the ingredients blend smoothly.
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey Adds a natural floral sweetness that balances the tangy yogurt.

Instructions

  • Pour the whole milk directly into the bottom of your blender jar. Spoon the plain Greek yogurt right over the top of the milk so it sinks slightly but sits on the base. Drizzle the raw honey over the yogurt mixture. Keep the liquids at the bottom of the machine. You will see the thick yogurt swirling slowly into the clear white milk. The golden honey forms thin lines across the top. You will smell the sweet aroma of honey mixing with the tangy dairy base. Loading the liquids first keeps the blade moving freely from the start. Miss this order and the frozen fruit jams the machine. Pour at room temperature, the warmth helps the honey dissolve before the cold fruit hits.

  • Scatter the frozen mango chunks into the blender jar directly on top of the yogurt base. Work quickly so the fruit stays frosty. Keep the chunks distributed evenly across the surface rather than piled in one big heap. (I tried using fresh mango first, the texture turned out way too watery and thin. Frozen chunks are the key.) You'll see the bright yellow mango pieces floating on the thick white yogurt layer. A light layer of white frost coats each individual fruit chunk. The contents fill up about three-quarters of the clear container. Add the frozen fruit at exactly 32°F or below, the ice crystals build the thick structure without needing actual ice cubes.

  • Secure the lid tightly on the machine. Secure the base and blend on high speed for exactly 60 to 90 seconds. Stop the machine halfway through at the 30-second mark. Scrape the sides down with a flexible rubber spatula in a J-shaped motion to catch stray fruit bits. You'll hear the loud motor soften into a low hum as the chunks break down completely. The mixture turns into a uniform and yellow color. A deep vortex forms in the center of the swirling liquid showing a thick and velvety texture. Blend at high speed for 90 seconds, the high convection pulverizes the fruit fibers so the drink gets perfectly smooth.

  • Pour the thick yellow mixture slowly from the blender jar into a tall fluted glass. Let the drink pile up on itself naturally creating soft folds on the surface as it fills the rim. Slide a clear glass straw gently into the center of the drink. Balance a small fresh mango chunk on the side. You'll see an ultra-smooth and glossy yellow surface with tiny natural air bubbles trapped on top. The glass gets cold instantly and a light layer of condensation forms on the outside. You'll smell the intense tropical aroma of ripe mango. Serve immediately at its chilly temperature, waiting even 10 minutes lets the mixture separate and lose its creamy body.

Notes

Store any leftovers in a glass mason jar with a tight lid in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Keep the temperature around 35°F to maintain freshness. You can also freeze the mixture in freezer-safe jars for up to 1 month. Leave an inch of space at the top because the liquid expands as it freezes. Thaw frozen smoothies in the fridge overnight before drinking. Add 2 tablespoons of fresh milk and shake vigorously to blend the separated layers back together. Discard the drink if it smells sour or develops a dull color.
